Role: Scribe
The Scribes team serves as the written voice and historical record of the conference. Its purpose is to capture, steward, and communicate the messages God releases through teachings, prayers, testimonies, and prophetic moments.
A scribe ensures clarity, accuracy, and spiritual integrity in all written content, preserving what is spoken for teaching, reflection, and broader impact beyond the conference walls.
Positions Available: the number of peoplel selected is based on the team's capacity.
Role and Responsibilities
Members of the the team are responsible for accurately capturing, organising, and stewarding written content throughout the conference. This includes documenting sermons, teachings, prayers, prophetic moments, and key discussions with clarity, discretion, and spiritual sensitivity.
The role typically involves note-taking during assigned sessions, post-session editing
and organisation of content, and occasional coordination meetings. Time commitment
may vary by day but generally includes active service during conference hours and limited follow-up work afterward.
Responsibilities:
- Listen attentively and document content faithfully and accurately.
- Work collaboratively with fellow scribes and department leadership.
- Uphold confidentiality, integrity, and excellence in all written records.
- Submit assigned notes and materials within agreed timelines.
- Remain flexible and responsive to the dynamic flow of conference sessions.

Requirements
- Strong listening and written communication skills.
- Ability to write clearly, accurately, and quickly.
- Basic proficiency with note-taking tools (digital or handwritten).
- Attention to detail and respect for confidentiality.
- Ability to work well within a team and follow direction.
- Willingness to serve with humility, discernment, and excellence.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in writing, editing, journalism, or documentation.
- Familiarity with church or conference environments.
- Experience capturing sermons, teachings, or prophetic content.
Expected Process
- Written Application – Candidates will complete a written application.
- Written Assessment - Canditates will complete a written assessment to evaluate listening and writing skills.
- Virtual Interview (1x) – A one to one online interview to discern calling, character,availability, and alignment with Upper Room’s mission and values.
- Prayerful Discernment & Reference Check (if applicable) – The leadership team prayerfully reviews applications and may contact a pastor or spiritual leader for reference.
- Acceptance & Onboarding – Accepted members complete orientation and training.
