The Sales Department is responsible for the distribution and sales of official Upper Room merchandise.

The team plays a key role in stewarding resources, serving attendees with excellence, and supporting the overall mission of the conference through hospitality, teamwork, and integrity.

The department operates before, during, and after services to ensure a smooth and welcoming merchandise experience.

Positions Available: 10 - 15

Role and Responsibilities

As a Sales Assistant, you will support the set up, sale, and management of merchandise during the conference. This role requires a heart for service, strong teamwork, and flexibility.
This role primarily serves during the conference days and may require early starts and active engagement throughout peak attendee hours.

Responsibilities include:

  • Setting up and managing the merchandise table.
  • Selling merchandise and handling payments responsibly.
  • Engaging kindly and professionally with conference attendees.
  • Working efficiently with the sales team under time pressure.
  • Being available early in the mornings when required.
  • Willingness to sacrifice part of service time, as the merchandise area is located
    outside.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in sales, retail, or customer service.
  • Good social and communication skills.
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and flexible with scheduling.
  • Willingness to serve even when it requires personal sacrifice.

Nice to Have

  • Previous experience in sales, retail, or customer service.
  • Confidence in speaking with people from diverse backgrounds.

Expected Process

  1. Written Application – Candidates will be screened after the submission of the application.
  2. Virtual Interview – Selected applicants will proceed to a virtual interview with the Head of the SalesTeam.
  3. Prayerful Discernment & Reference Check (if applicable) – The leadership team prayerfully reviews applications and may contact a pastor or spiritual leader for reference.
  4. Acceptance & Onboarding – Accepted members complete orientation and training.
